National Adaptive Stress Research Institute
Enrollment Closed
All active cohorts are at capacity. The Institute is not accepting applications for study participation at this time and has no scheduled date for reopening enrollment. Applications received while enrollment is closed are not processed and are not retained. Please do not telephone regarding enrollment status.
The Institute periodically enrolls participants in longitudinal observation programs conducted under its human factors practice. Participation involves scheduled assessment sessions, periodic physiological measurement, and, for certain cohorts, a field component conducted at an Institute facility. Participation is compensated at the rates published in the enrollment agreement at the time of intake.
Enrollment is administered by cohort rather than continuously. A cohort is opened, filled, and closed. Cohorts are not reopened. There is no waiting list and the Institute does not maintain one. Persons who wish to be considered for a future cohort are advised to check this page periodically.
When enrollment is open, the general criteria are as follows. These are stated for information only and confer no entitlement to enroll.
Meeting the criteria does not constitute acceptance. Selection is made by the program office against cohort composition requirements, which vary by study and are not published.
| Component | Rate | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Assessment sessions | $60 per hour | Hours attended |
| Residency | $180 per day | Days in residence |
| Field component | $2,400 | Per completed component |
| Completion bonus | $5,000 | On cohort completion |
Compensation is paid on completion. Participants who withdraw before completion are compensated for hours attended only. The Institute does not advance funds and does not reimburse travel.
The Institute accepts participant referrals from municipal social service offices, correctional research liaison offices, and partner organizations under standing agreements. Referral arrangements are administered separately from public enrollment and are not affected by the status of this page. Organizations seeking to establish a referral arrangement should write to the address below.
There is no application form on this page. When enrollment reopens, a form will be posted here. Until then, written inquiries may be sent to the address below and will be answered when enrollment status changes. The Institute does not accept applications by electronic mail and does not retain unsolicited applications.
